ABRASTA, in partnership with the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, from São Paulo, offers the exam free of charge to the associated from any State of the country. The schedules are made by the ABRASTA team.
Psychological assistance
Psychologists who work for ABRASTA offer free service – individual or in group – to people with thalassemia and relatives with difficulty to cope with thalassemia, a chronic disease that may cause emotional impacts and affect social life.

It is aimed at using the specific knowledge of the psychology professional for guidance on punctual matters, when present service is not possible.

Legal services
Free consultancy to counsel associated with ABRASTA who are aimed at helping assure all rights pertaining to the patients, such as access to medication, exams and ideal treatments. In 2009, the legal department amounted to 167 national services.
Project See and Listen
Representatives of ABRASTA visit the blood centers from several cities of the country. The goal is disseminating information on thalassemia, mapping the general conditions of such places all over Brazil and raising data on their needs to prepare reports that serve as arguments for negotiations before the local and State Health Offices and /or the Health Department.
Patient Schedule
A creative form of encouraging adhesion to the treatment. The schedule, which always brings a message for adhesion to the treatment – such as blood donation, was especially prepared so that the patient may better control his/her care to health. For that, it offers in its pages a checklist of the most important exams, as well as space to schedule the days and times for using the chelating agents and for blood transfusion.
