The association was founded in August 06, 1982 by a group of parents of Thalassaemic patients. It is a member of TIF (Federação Internacional de Talassemia) and it aims at improving treatment and quality of life for all patients.

ABRASTA - Brazilian Association of Thalassaemia is a
non-profitable, non-government organization whose basic goal is to assist
patients with Thalassaemia and to struggle to improve blood quality and
